What is Raydium?

Raydium is an AMM and liquidity provider based on the Solana blockchain for the Serum decentralized exchange (DEX). In contrast to other AMMs, Raydium offers on-chain liquidity to a centralized limit order book. This means that funds deposited into Raydium are transformed into limit orders that stay on Serum's order books. Thus, Serum's order flow and liquidity are available to Raydium LPs.
The native utility token, RAY, is used for:
- Earning protocol fees with staking
- Staking for IDO allocations
- Protocol Governance
How many RAY tokens are there?
On February 21, 2021, Raydium's main net went live, and 555,000,000 tokens were issued. Over the course of three years, 34% of all tokens will be distributed as liquidity mining incentives. 30% of tokens go to partnerships and Raydium ecosystem growth. This includes providing funds to develop Raydium-related initiatives and aiding our communities. These tokens have a one-year lock and two-year linear unlock period.
Founders

X is responsible for designing the necessary technologies and infrastructure for Raydium.
GammaRay is responsible for leading the company's marketing and communications efforts and also plays a critical role in setting the company's overall strategic and product direction. Gamma spent most of his professional life at a top-tier data analytics and market research organization, where he was involved in both client engagements and internal marketing initiatives. Gamma previously dedicated itself to technical analysis and discretionary trading in cryptocurrency.
